Ottawa 2016

Three Ottawa area curling clubs; the Ottawa Curling Club, the Rideau Curling Club, and the Royal Canadian Navy Curling Club; hosted a 2-4 curling event on March 7, 2016 during the Tim Horton’s Brier in Ottawa. Curling Canada designated March 7th at The Brier as Support Our Troops Day. Curlers from across Canada and spectators alike had the opportunity to show their respect and appreciation to the men and women, past and present, of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Curlers Care scarves, donated by Bill Connor and his staff at Connor Industries, Parry Sound, were presented to all participating curlers. Ray Pavlove, of Parry Sound, also presented Bobby Orr Hall of Fame pins to all participants, courtesy of Ron Orr and the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame.

Manager of the Ottawa Curing Club, Dalal Abou Eid did a great job hosting the event and provided an hearty chili lunch to all participants.
