L to R: Tom Traversy, Curlers Care Committee; Al Bourgeois, President Parry Sound Curling Club; Bill Connor, Connor Industries; and Ray Pavlove, Curlers Care Committee.

Bill Connor and staff received a painting  and thanks from Danny Lamoureux, of Curling Canada. The plaque on the painting reads, “Thanks for Your Contribution to The Supporting Our Troops Bonspiel 2-4 Spiel Ottawa Style, March 7, 2016.”

The Ottawa Curling Club hosted a 2-4 Supporting our Troops Bonspiel during the 2016 Tim Hortons Brier in Ottawa in March. Connor, a sponsor of the event, provided Curlers Care scarves to all participants. Parry Sound event organizers also thank Connor as he has been the major  sponsor of the bonspiel for the past two years and look forward to other curling clubs in Canada hosting a similar 2-4 Supporting our Troops Bonspiel in their communities in support of the men and women and their families in the Canadian Armed Forces.

“It is a way for Canadians to show their appreciation, respect and gratitude for the service and sacrifice  to all those in uniform. past and present,” said Ray Pavlove, one of the local organizers of the event.

“The Parry Sound Curling Club is looking forward to hosting the 3rd Annual 2-4 Supporting our Troops Bonspiel, March 3, 4 and 5, 2017,” added fellow organizer Al Bourgeois.
